The fabrics are hand made and come with all the qualities of hand made products. This is the beauty of the blinds. All the stains and dyes used can fade a lot faster and are not usually not UV resistant. A water based varnished can be applied that will give the product a much longer colour protection. Bamboo blinds need to be installed in well ventilated areas, and ideally be wiped down every month with a dry cloth. This prevents fungal spores from bedding down and growing. To operate the blind a simple pull cord with a solid brass cleat is supplied. Additional features would include pelmets or valance options with cord locks. We used our Roman headrail successfully to operate the roll up style as well as the Roman fold style on most bamboos. We can now motorise this product as well.
